If you are looking to hold an event in The City of Saratoga Springs, on City property or that uses City resources such as fire, police, garbage removal, etc. you will need to fill out our Special Events Permit form (PDF). It can be downloaded or you can pick up a copy at the city offices.

Defining Special Events

A special event is defined as an activity or series of activities, specific to an identifiable time and place, produced in conjunction with community organizations often held on public property, and which may occur on a one-time or a recurring basis. Such events may include but are not limited to:

  • Block parties
  • Fund raisers
  • Races
  • Rides
  • Runs
  • Street closures
  • Street parties
  • Walks

They may occur on streets and/or sidewalks, parks, and other City-owned property. They may also include mass gatherings as defined in City ordinance. For the purposes of this policy, special events shall not include privately sponsored events which rent space inside.
